Our Adoption Process
Filling out an adoption application is the first step to adopting one of our rescues. References and a home visit are also required elements of our adoption process and it is our policy to complete checks prior to matching dogs to adopters. Our adoption fees for dogs are as follows (unless otherwise indicated on individual posts):
- Less Than 1 Year Old: $250.00
- 1-3 Years Old: $200.00
- 4-6 Years Old: $150.00
- 7+ Years Old and Special Needs: $100.00
Unless otherwise indicated on individual posts, cats and kittens are $50.00 each.
Please note that Friends of Phoebie does not buy or sell pets. These fees cover the veterinary, training, and living costs of the pets during their stays with us and help us offset the costs of caring for the other pets in our care. The fees also help protect our pets from being adopted by people who may not have the best intentions toward our rescues, who have already been through enough. Our first and primary goal is to provide the best home possible for each pet so they will never have to come into rescue or live in a shelter ever again.
Once you have completed your paper application, scan and e-mail it to Summer Steves at firstname.lastname@example.org, fax it to (518) 792-8511, or mail or deliver it (on a weekday) to 169 Haviland Road in Queensbury, NY 12804 (please note this address differs from the facility address). After reviewing your application and checking your references, we will contact you about scheduling a home visit and a meet-and-greet with your foster and, once approved, you will be free to take home your new companion.
